It's that time again!!!!! Team sign-up!!! 


If you are a returning Angel, then this is your sign-up page!  Please complete and submit the form to the right to sign up for Nola Angels 2025-2026 (year 6!)!

Returning Angels FAQs

How Much?

  • Dues for Year 6 (2025-2026): $350
  • Guardian Angels do not pay dues

When?

  • $100 of Dues is due at sign-up/prior to our Angel Spectacular (May 31st, 2025)
  • Ballance is due before the Krewe of Boo Parade (Oct 18th, 2025)
  • Dues cover your team membership from June 2025 until June 2026 (dues always include one Mardi Gras Season).

How?

  • Dues can be paid in cash at practice or via Venmo


If you are interested in being a Veteran Angel for the upcoming year, here are this year's requirements/your hit list:


Veteran Angel requirements for Year 7:

  • Be an active NOLA Angel: Be up to date with your Annual Dues.
  • Attendance: Actively attended at least two Seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall).  'Activity Attend' means attending two or more classes in that Season (online or in person).
  • Performance: Perform in three or more dances at live performances or at final film recordings.
  • Parade: Parade with the NOLA Angels in at least three parades
  • Social: Attended at least three NOLA Angel social events
  • Building Our Team: You must have actively taken on at least one Team Committee role or Captain role in the previous year.
  • Keep it Classy: In the past year, and going forward, you must represent our team in the 'Sassy but Classy' manner that we aim for.

Captain & Committee Posts open for the upcoming year:

Do you have a great smile? Do you want to be first in meeting our new Angels? Are you excited to tell others about our team? Then this may be for you!


Committee Members:

Duties & Opportunities:


Cordiality Captains:

  • Help organize our Meet the Angels Socials (2 per year)
  • Manage our Welcoming Angels

  1. Prepare our Welcoming Angels prior to each Meet the Angels Social
  2. Help our Welcoming Angels where needed

  • Manage our Big Sister program:

  1. Keep track of our Big Sisters & ensure each Rookie has an active Big Sister
  2. Check in with both Big Sisters & Rookies at least once a month to check the relationship is working
  3. Find a replacement Big Sister for any Rookie who doesn't have an active Big Sister
  4. Report any changes in Big Sister/Rookie pairings to our Team Director (Charlie)
  5. Report any issues to our Team Director (Charlie)

  • Provide great photos of our new Rookies & Rookie/Big Sister pairs to our Communications Captain


Welcoming Angels:

  • Attend our Meet the Angels socials (2 per year)
  • Provide a smiley, friendly, welcome to new potential Angels
  • Inform new potential Angels about the team:

  1. Ask them what they are looking for in the team
  2. Tell them why you love the team
  3. Answer any questions they have regarding parades, costumes, dance performances, socials, give backs, dues, or the team generally
  4. Get help from our Dance Captains, Costume Captains, Style Angels, Throw Captains, Throw Masters, Social Captains, on any questions you need help with


Big Sisters:

  • You will be assigned one or more Rookie Angels
  • Find out about your Rookie:

  1. Where they are from
  2. Why did they join the team
  3. What are they looking forward to
  4. How they plan to get to & from class/socials/parades
  5. Any potential issues, concerns, limits
  6. Any special skills or resources that may help us build the team 

  • Report any issues, concerns, or limitations to our Team Director (Charlie)
  • Report any special skills or resources to our Team Director (Charlie)
  • Reach out to your Rookie Angel each week and ask:

  1. How are they
  2. Do they need anything
  3. How did they find the last class/social/parade
  4. Do they need help getting to class/social/parade
  5. Do they need help with their costume
  6. Do they need help with the current dance
  7. Are they are enjoying the team
  8. Do they have any problems or issues
  9. If they need dance help, reach out to the Dance Captains
  10. If they need costume help, reach out to the Costume Captain or a Style Angel
  11. If they need help getting to class/social/parade inform our Cordiality Captain(s)
  12. Report back any issues to our Cordiality Captain(s)

Duties & Opportunities:


Costume Captains:

  • Lead the Costume Committee, including leading the Style Angels & Costume Keepers
  • Leading our Costumes 101 Socials (2 per year)
  • Keep track of and aid distribution of costume pieces stored within our Angel Box of Fabulousness
  • Keep track of parade day/performance day costume pieces (such as Joan of Arc tunics, Easter Parade Hats, etc.)
  • Provide great photos of our costumes & any costume news to our Communications Captain to help celebrate our fabulous costumes 


Costume Keepers:

  • Prepare team costume pieces (such as Joan of Arc tunics, Easter Parade Hats, etc.) prior to parade/performance day 
  • Provide team costume pieces (such as Mad Hatter Hats) to the team ready for parade/performance
  • Help Angels into their wings on parade day

 

Style Angels:

  • Take part in costume committee meetings (4 per year)
  • Present at our Costumes 101 Socials (2 per year)
  • Help Rookie Angels to build and style their costume
  • At parade/performance line-up, check costumes are parade/performance ready and help make any needed changes


If you're a Veteran Angel who loves to dance and parade and would love to lead the dancing on parade day, then this may be the post for you!


Duties & Opportunities:

  • Attend Dance Captain meetings & rehearsals (4 per year)
  • Aid with dance chorography
  • Teach dance routines to the team
  • Lead the Dancing Angels on parade day


Are your crafty? Do you enjoy making our handmade throws? Then this may be for you!


Throw Committee:

  • 1st Throws Captain (X1) [Veteran Post]
  • 2nd Throws Captain (X1) [Veteran Post]
  • Throw Masters (X4) *Open to all Angels


Duties & Opportunities:


Throw Captains:

  • Lead the Throws Committee meetings (2 per year)
  • Help develop Angel throws for the new dance year
  • Organize, prepare for, & promote our Throw Crafting Socials
  • Lead our Throw Making Socials (4 per year)
  • Provide Throw Making Demonstrations at Throw Crafting Socials 
  • Prepare & distribute Throw Making Kits
  • Collect throws from the team
  • Undertake & responsible for quality control of throws
  • Transport throws ready for throwing to parade line-up
  • Prepare Throw bundles for VIPs
  • Provide great photos of our throws & any throws news to our Communications Captain to help celebrate our fabulous throws


Throw Masters:

  • Take part in Throw Committee meetings (2 per year)
  • Provide Throw Making Demonstrations at Throw Crafting Socials (4 per year)
  • Distribute Throw Making Kits to Angels & Guardians
  • Take photos of our throws & our team making throws & pass them to our Throws Vice Captain
  • Collect Throws from Angels & Guardians & pass to Throw Captain
  • Answer Rookie Angel questions regarding throws


Are you organized?  A great communicator? Are you resourceful? Then this may be for you!


Parade Day Management:

  • Parade Day Captain (x4) [Veteran Post] - Two Parade Day Captains, a 1st & a 2nd, will be assigned to each parade
  • Guardian Angel Captain (x4) *Open to Guardian Angels & Veteran Angels


Duties & Opportunities:


Parade Day Captains: Duties included, but are not limited to:

  • Parade day coordination with the parade Grand Marshal
  • Check in with our Guardian Angel Captain, help resolve any issues or answer any questions
  • Check in with our Costume Captain, help resolve any issues or answer any questions
  • Check in with our Throws Captain, help resolve any issues or answer any questions
  • Arranging parade dance run-through at line-up
  • Confirm and/or identify our Announcing Angels (holding our banner), Gifting Angels, and Grand Angel (wings will be provided by our Costume Captain/Costume Keeper), and ensure all know what they need to do during and after the parade
  • Check all individual and team photos have been taken, help our Photographing Angel to identify any Angel who still needs their photo taken
  • Serve as our go-to Angel for any concerns or issues regarding any Fallen (drunk, inhibited, or sick) Angels
  • 1st Parade Day Captain to have final call should any Fallen Angel not be fit to parade
  • Serve as Angel Wrangler: Keep track of who has arrived, who is running late, & who is no longer able to make parade
  • Check in with each Angel prior to parade roll to check they are ready to roll, help resolve any issues


Guardian Angel Captain:

  • Manage our Guardian Angels on Parade Day
  • At line-up:

  1. Identify our Guardian Angels
  2. Introduce each Guardian to each other
  3. Ensure each Guardian is in costume, if in doubt, request the help of our Costume Captain(s)/Style Angels
  4. Distribute and manage Guardian Pre-Parade tasks
  5. Assign each Guardian role for when parade rolls
  6. Ensure each Guardian understands what is expected of them and how to undertake the role they have been assigned
  7. Teach Water & Candy Guardians how we hand out water during parade
  8. Teach Crowed Control & Security Guardians what is expected, allowed, and not allowed in this role

  • Ensure all Guardians get a parade day photo
  • Ensure all Guardians are in our team photo
  • Ensure each Guardian knows where they need to be during parade
  • Assign post-parade tasks

  • Prepare/write posts to be shared on our public social media
  • Help promote our team to potential new Angels
  • Help promote our annual fundraiser & end of year show, our Angel Spectacular
  • Work with our Dance, Costume, and Throws Captains to produce short videos for our social media


Media Stars:

  • Prepare/write posts to be shared on our public social media
  • Produce short videos for our social media
